Journey to Labour: the art of letting go
This session is specifically for birthing people in the final weeks of their pregnancy, “overdue” or wanting to avoid induction of labour. It can also be really helpful for people experiencing increased pelvic pain in pregnancy or when baby is in a breech or transverse position.
What do we do?
This is a nurturing, gentle and calming session, during which we are led by you and your baby. Our time together will include movement and breathwork, pelvic balancing techniques, and deep rest. Our intention is to harness the power of oxytocin, release fear, and embrace the art of letting go.
We explore ways to release any tension, both within the physical body and mind, through guided rhythmical movements. This is usually followed by pelvic balancing techniques, which is decided by the nuances of your needs and your body’s response - there is no ‘one size fits all’. We encourage the mind to rest through guided meditation, during which people will often nap. There isn’t much chat, things are quiet - it’s a time for you to listen in. Feel. Trust.
You’ll likely leave feeling calm, more relaxed, and often full of love. I’ll share some essential oils and a relaxation track for you to take home. I encourage people to go home and have a rest or a bath and see how things are over the coming days.
Why work with me?
As an experienced yoga teacher and doula, I have a wealth of experience working with pregnant and birthing people. I observe how caught up in our minds we can get, especially as we await our baby’s arrival, and how often this leads to a fear-tension-pain cycle. Sometimes (often!) when we lean into our body’s intuition, let go of expectation and find ways to release, things get a bit easier. There is magic in tuning inwards.

The investment is £80 per session, which includes a relaxation MP3 and some essential oils.
Sessions typically take place at my studio in Winchmore Hill, N21, but I can come to your home - within 3 miles - which is an additional £15.
